I use the cable for my bike. no idea if this is particularly safe - this depends on the padlock off - but it looks good and allows the chain also on trees, or on things that are farther away. the process itself is something fummeliger because you have so much cable and this must merge again. but I take into account, for I have no limits when chained my bike.
