The adapter has been working with the following works to my complete satisfaction:
~ Moving a angeknacksten hard drive to a new hard drive.
~ Prepare for installation of an SSD. After installing the SSD Copy the data from the original hard drive.
~ Deleting a 3.5 "hard drive
~ Deleting a 2.5 "drive.
~ Using SATA to Slim SATA Adapter DVD drive connected to a notebook to Reinstall Windows.

Secure deletion of hard disks known to take a long time. In order not to take weeks, I took the plates and the adapter each with the current workplace. Ie other often several times a day over a period of at least 1.5 weeks, and staked. The adapter has the frequent plugging previously coped without complaint. (Reportedly, SATA connectors designed for only a fairly small number of mating cycles.)
For 2.5 "drives enough power through USB.
For the 3.5 "drive adapter had to be expected to be powered using the included AC adapter.
