I use the tripod head with my SLR (Canon EOS 450D) with all standard lenses up to 500mm prime lens and my camcorder.
Both will halt on the 2 supplied quick release adapter plates safe and is fixed safely on the head.
Both the heavy SLR camera as well as with the lightweight camcorder can perform wonderful pivoting movements and thanks to fluid-damped guide to jerky or fast movements even in light devices can be prevented.
So why not 5 stars ...
Well, unfortunately, has the time, use your head now for a good 10 months, and one or the other weakness is emerging.
Especially when shooting at the telephoto end, a reliable fixation of the individual swivel axes one wishes without pretending the fix something. Unfortunately, I have to make the experience that this happens like in this head.
Who does not pay attention pretending when tightening the thumbscrews quickly restore the orientation of the camera give the telephoto end is then fast times next to his actual motive. That is annoying. Thus 1 star deduction.
Also the camera can be with this Tripod head not use in portrait orientation, unless the camera has a tripod thread and laterally. It is now time stand only a 2 axes.
Pro:
Price
2 quick release adapter plates
Clean pan and tilt guidance
Secure grip even with heavy cameras.
Contraindications:
When tightening the thumbscrews securing it quickly adjusts the alignment.
Only 2 axes,
No portrait function.
Because of the still first-class price-performance ratio, I can recommend this hydraulically cushioned ball head tripod head straight for advanced amateur photographers and filmmakers, on a budget, just warmest.
