The review I share in two parts because I'm forced the hardware and the software to be assessed separately.
Hardware:
+ TOP, TOP, TOP. The Lumia 930 is really super processed. It makes a high impression, and everything gives you the feeling that you can really keep a "flagship" in the hand. The weight is in my opinion very good.
+ The camera - madness. That is until now the best camera on a smartphone I've ever had. The images, even in the dark are just great.
+ Display - razor sharp. There nothing to complain about.
+ Equipment, CPU, etc. All at a very high level.
- No Glance screen
- No notification LED
- If at the bottom of warm (not hot)
Rein seen from the hardware, I would prefer the phone any Apple or Android device. Processing and everything around it are perfect.
Now we come to the crux of the matter, however, and that's unfortunately Windows Phone 8.1 (Cyan update loaded)
It's the little things that stand a daily negative. Also, there are many positive aspects, such as the rapid and stable OS itself. The update policy of MS like me.
Here are a few absolute no-go's for me and the reason why the cell phone (unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately) again returns.
- The App Store. It was clear from the outset that the app selection is not as large as the two major OS counterparty. Less bothers me the quantity, rather the quality of the apps. Many so-called Apps are just links to the site. For that I need no app but am a bookmark in the browser.
- The overview of the App Store and the Xbox Music Stores MMN is a small disaster. The app stores from Apple and iOS are wide to better and easier. One can not increase overnight the amount of apps is clear to me, but to the clarity you can quickly change.
- I buy to music (individual tracks) or rummage like something there so. Google has in his music store always great deals such as free tracks, free albums (most recently the Best Of Michael Jackson). Moreover, there is here a best of album of XY or here's an album by the band ABCD for a mere 1.99. - For MS sadly wrong !!!
- And now for something to shake their heads !!! - Which MS OS developers came up with the idea that the alarm does not need a volume control ?! The alarm itself is barely audible in the waking state and this quiet gepipse to wake me from sleep ?! Now say many determined that the volume is still perfectly fine, etc. That's why it does not go to me. In 2014 (soon 2015) should nevertheless be able to let his customers decide how to ring the alarm loudly. My first mobile phone I bought 15 years ago (!!!) and could set in ancient century the volume of the alarm clock.
There are just too many little things, things that could be solved with a quick update disrupt an Android changer. If MS wants more customers from iOS or Android switch to Windows Phone, you should MMN working on the many small Störpunkten.
For my case will return to my Samsung Galaxy S5 again. Although the S5 never approach is in terms of quality to the Lumia 930, has Android OS for me simply the better overall package.
Windows Phone I will continue to monitor and give the whole thing a try later. The hardware and especially the prices of hardware are very convincing.
