Paradox games suffered in my opinion a problem. Personally it did not bother me but it could put off players: ergonomics games was awful, taking into extremely difficult hand, poorly optimized games strong, manuals giving no info (although ... Now is fashionable to have an unnecessary manual pity ... The good old days to the Baldur's Gate where all skills and stats were written is over, or finally ...). Personally I like it because it allowed me to discover a play.
Here it is no longer the case (the manual is still small), we have to make a great game well built. The ergonomics are perfect, we found it very easily so no worries at this level. I can note the tutorial because I am a regular so I live skippered.
Otherwise regarding the game for those who do not have the slightest idea of the game: it manages a lineage, a family (Earl, Duke, King, Emperor) and its territory. This game is similar to eg Empire Total War (if not we do not take part in the battles) was our territory, we build it, they mate revolts, it defends, we invade d others, we manage the economy and diplomacy.
The specialty of the game compared to any other game that is the whole dimension of relations between the Middle Ages and Vassal Overlord: indeed to win this game, we must especially think "family relationships". You desire a Christian territory? No way to invade without Casus Belli (valid reason to declare war). So you will have to patiently and intelligently predict your moves through marriages to access thrones assassination (it will be common to assassinate your little son or your nephew to prevent him access to a title and keep it for you).
In addition there are any management need vassals monitor with great care. Indeed, you are never going to direct 50 territory, but at most a dozen, the rest of "your" territory are the territories of your vassals, who constantly seek to kill you, to take your throne, to earn influence to demand a title etc. And of course the opposite also works to gradually enlarge your territory, challenging the legitimacy of the king, you become king even through wars, diplomacy, weddings etc.
In short, a great game for those who like to dig a little neurons
