I looked at the new version (in the store), and I then ordered the old version (last piece of Amazon - but quite (11/2014) still get some dealers). As nice as the new version is -ergonomischere keys and clamps & 2cm shorter- it weighs 400g (0.4kg) more than the old version. I do not understand what is Manfrotto has designed since.
Regarding the stability to take the two nothing, but when I buy a carbon tripod I accept a higher price in order to have a lighter weight. Now is one or the other to say: The Spinners - for 0.4kg, but when you walk in the evening with the tripod head plus + DSLR with lens through the city to find it the first 3-4 times eh super because new ... but then the arms in time but longer and then every gram counts.
So who studied in the studio or at home, a good tripod, for it does not matter whether new or old version (as I would then take the aluminum version, because much cheaper and weight negligible) but who is now on the road, it rucksack has, for the one weight (especially when it comes to how these two models does not affect the stability).
And that's why I think that is a throwback to MT055CXPRO4 055CXPRO4, 0,4kg for 2cm Length savings - it need not be.
