Marketing joke: network security no longer works !!

In the product description reads:

Thanks to an extended support for Networked Attached Storage (NAS) You no longer need to manually search for NAS devices, since this will automatically detect Acronis and lists for you. "

That is the original wording Acronis, with the allegedly better network readiness - is promoted - especially for NAS.

The reality is the complete opposite of Acronis self-presentation:

Aha. Yes that's true. The drives detects ATIH. And ATIH lists all of the drives on even. But how could I be so presumptuous as expected, ATIH would also copy to this recognized and listed drives! Of this finally is no talk at Acronis.

2012 ATIH use with network drives or NAS systems So, dear readers, if you have the intention to, make sure that Acronis has completely solved this error. As can be seen alone on this one (essential) function of the product, the guys from Acronis are absolute professionals in marketing. From programming and quality assurance ring apparently they understand less. As a longtime user of Acronis software I know that it is one of the authentic traditions with Acronis to bring the software every year anew to the immature market. And if Acronis succeed no real functional innovations, then at least on a solid Verschlimmbesserung reliable.

The synchronization feature could have a functional enrichment. But with the forced registration of each synchronization with an account on the Acronis Web site, the function is just as bad joke as the supposed improvement of network readiness. Be honest, dear readers, why should you let the backup / sync your local hard drive 1 to another local hard drive 2 run over the Internet and Acronis? In particular, if you synchronize sensitive information. Or if you do not use your system on the Internet. So, this synchronization function is common nonsense - or most likely to arouse suspicion of Acronis.

The other features I have not investigated further and therefore will not comment it. I would be delighted, to preserve one or another user who wants to use ATIH 2012 network or NAS, before the waste of time that has cost me the shoddy work of Acronis.
