After mediocre score of the second part, I had quite a lot for the final act expected! Unfortunately I have to anticipate these expectations were not met ... more
But after the series ...
Positives: Because rather bleak and brutal, the final score is sometimes very epic over! Suitable for a war film that> the battle of five HeereThe Last Goodbye
Negatives: Shore focuses in the last part mostly on already known motifs from the Hobbit trilogy (this changed here and there some) leaves but little new added flow! Listen After several, I can filter out only a single new subject. (Dain and the dwarves of the Iron Mountains) Considering in ,, you and the wealth of topics the return of the king "so this by comparison looks more like commissioned work! And that's because it was perhaps the last Tolkien adaptation, very bad something endtäuschend! Also missing the whole once again (as in Part 2) a dominant main theme, thus the common thread!
Well I would not say the score was entirely bad now! Outstanding or Oscar-ripe but I would describe him as little!
Conclusion: The final act of the musical trilogy moves at about the same height as his predecessors. He is primarily massive somber, complex (with little new to hear) and in some places pretty epic! But he left behind a total of a little short of expectations!
In conclusion about the complete works (Hobbit score) now; basically solid Middle-earth feeling, representing some places good to very good film music. Compared (as specified by the same composer) to its predecessor-work, this score but in the end never really come close to the class of unique LotR soundtrack!
