Max Payne is old ....

The setting in the favelas of São Paulo city and itself is very well done. Directly at the beginning of the game a captivating atmosphere is immediately created and the story is quickly gaining momentum. Max Payne is content not a masterpiece, but it's also a shooter, in which I do not expect epic arcs. After all, is not resorted by time leaps and clever use of video effects in the cutscenes to standard solutions. The rough character of Max Payne completes the experience from completely satisfactory. More I do not expect in an action game actually.

Due to the different levels of difficulty, the game is suitable for beginners as well as for "Hardcore" -Zocker.
Who does not know its predecessor, still can access safely, because the main story does not have much in common with the old stories.

Getting started is fairly easy designed. With the help of text overlays, where the game is paused, the most important functions are explained.
May Payne 3 takes back to the old bullet-time feature and is bloodier than ever. In slow motion a Met opponent can sift directly with a few more balls when needed. Close and blood en masse included. A headshot leaves for example ... - No, I write now not fully clear. Trust me, it's really UNCUT ;-)

The gameplay has otherwise no further innovations. It can, however, play enjoyable. Opponents behave halfway intelligent, seek cover flank, etc ... This fits extent. Particularly beautiful are the cutscenes, which are linked seamlessly to the game. Load times there seems to be no, which means that you can hardly tear himself from the game going on (either, you want to see the scene finished, or it is just in the middle of a shootout ...). This makes joy and other game developers should serve as an example!
Crashes previously did not. Unlike other games, the customer needs so do not feel too stuck in a beta phase.

The multiplayer mode is not relevant for me because I know Max Payne as a single-player shooter, and will continue to use that. But seems to be a pretty entertaining pastime, which is expected to extend the gaming experience to a few more hours :)

Graphically the game is heavily involved and does not need to hide from other recent titles. DX 9 - DX 11 support, many other settings to ensure that May Payne 3 probably should run well on older computers!
I particularly like the view of the city right at the beginning of the game! Just looks super. The shot entry wounds that are left on Max Payne's clothing, however, are really bad. A Max Payne is likely to be with three fist-sized holes in the back on the ground.

The sound is also managed. The positions of the shooters can be in an appropriate surround system easily locate by ear. Musical accompaniment, language, other sounds contribute to a great game atmosphere.

Nevertheless, there are certainly things that could ensure a devaluation. Since it is very individual needs, I did not want to incorporate them into the final with you. They should serve the customer rather than evidence of being able to tinker own rating of it. For me, that is enough none of these points in order to reduce the final classification on 4 stars.
First, the game is in English (subtitles are there, but that is the one or the other still not enough!). However, I must say that the speakers are great and who can speak English, which was anyway not access any German Synchro.
Secondly, it is genuine brazen that is a prescribed, with which graphics settings you can still play! Depending on the video RAM you have on Medium or Low play or anti-aliasing filter runterschrauben, etc. After all, even though the game still could run smoothly possibly, is the informed user (he is, after all, more than 18 ... ) the option for higher quality settings denied! That may be well intentioned, but you would have to leave even with a notice ("Caution, with these settings the game will probably not run smoothly for you!"). Remedy can create itself, by overwriting the graphics configuration file manually. This is in my path: "C: \ Users \ USERNAME \ Documents \ Rockstar Games \ Max Payne 3" and is "graphics.xml". Just open with Notepad or Word Pad!
Registration compulsory at the Rockstar Social Club is, unfortunately, necessary, even if one is not interested in the multiplayer.
During installation I personally had no problems, so can not complain there. If you have problems running the game should definitely install the update, because without the latest Rockstar Social Club software does not get any ...

The game ran thus on maximum settings (only MSAA was disabled because it makes little difference as long as FXAA is enabled) absolutely smooth.
