I disassembled the case today because I wanted to replace the 320GB hard drive with an existing, smaller disk from my computer.
It was very difficult to open the case without it damaging them. You can tell that it is definitely not meant to open it. Nevertheless succeeded to some effort to open it without injury.
The hard disk sits in a perforated steel cage, which probably serves to shield and cooling. Already here falls on the high-quality processing, because some edges where panels abut one another are, even masked with extra shielding.
But after the steel cage open, I was quite amazed: instead of the expected MAXTOR hard drive I found a model from Seagate (Barracuda ST3320620A)! Likewise, the USB-IDE converter board of the housing was also of SEAGATE! The inside of the steel cage, and the Fashion of the structure and installed LED cable made me a very high quality and thoughtful impression, since I know other ..
The Seagte hard drive is now running in my desktop computer properly, as the existing and newly built housing external hard drive. So all the best!
