Domino Effect (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After Gotthard 2005 "Lipservice" already were delivering an excellent hard rock album and in 2006 with "Made in Switzerland" nachlegten a great live album, they now go with "Domino Effect" on the path of style and consistently. Steve Lee (vocals), Leo Leoni (guitars), Freddy Scherer (guitars), Marc Lynn (bass) and Hena Habegger (drums) will present 14 grandiose songs with a total playing time of 54:37 minutes. Special guest is Nicola Fragile (keyboards) with it, which rounds off with skillfully targeted synthesizer sequences the whole.

The opening track "Master Of Illusion" It's the same time ingenious rocking going on, followed by a virtuoso driving "Gone Too Far", which leads on to the explosive pounding title track "Domino Effect". After this furious start Fireworks gentler tones are then with the power ballad "Falling" first announced and also in the subsequent single "The Call" is a typical, atmospheric Gotthard uptempo ballad. Then it's back to business faster with the powerfull "The Oscar Goes To ..." and the rocking "The Cruiser (Judgement Day)". The following cool riff-rocker "Heal Me" makes just a lot of fun and leads through to relaxing, soulful ballad "Letter To A Friend". Also "Tomorrow's Just Begun" is a profound goosebumps number before then again faster, grooving "Come Alive" ignites the next rock fireworks. "Bad To The Bone" rocks from huge and the rough "Now" even comes something punky therefore. The album is finally finished with the gentle, beautiful "Where Is Love When It's Gone".

Gotthard do it once more to blend influences from rock legends like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Whitesnake in their music and to develop an independent, typical Gotthard style. From Leo Leoni and Ronald Prent technically savvy produced and of course dominated by the power of voice Steve Lee Gotthard celebrate Hard Rock at its best, in a modern sound robe and carried forward with much enthusiasm.
