The lamp sits very comfortable on the head - they no longer feel quasi after some time - even while jogging nothing wobbles, or the like.
Jogge here on dirt tracks, gauge railways, etc. through the dark forest - the lamp provides for sufficient light and I'm ready also satisfied with the general quality / processing opportunity for adapter plates / brackets (eg on the helmet), etc., etc.
Nevertheless - it should go even brighter for my taste ...
Will the lamp but keep in any case, and continue to work for a jog - the known competitor products come to me out of the question because:
1. Often shaky because far above
2. 100g hard - I do not want
3. Battery compartment at the back plus extra cable on headband to the lamp, or even a third band over the head over - that simply does not even know a) if I want to read again and myself anlehne somewhere disturbs this, or b) possible Error source, c) looks stupid, d) I am not a caver ;-)
My résumé: For joggers, walkers, hobbyists (needed light at close range) ideal, but too dark for Searchlight freaks.
Addendum of 23/01/2011: Have now the 2nd country run in the dark behind me. As eyeglass wearers it bothers that Petzl also residual light downward radiates on the lenses - after Grantiezeit I'm inking the lower housing corresponding with an Edding pen oer similar - currently makes black tape good services which I have applied sections accordingly. This modification is obtained as wearing glasses visually once more light output, or better visibility and contrast.
The Petzl is but still a very good headlamp and enough really ... but I've just found my dream lamp - this is Expected from Febr available.. Google times after the Storm from Black Diamond (US company) - important here is that 2011 model, which is not yet available. The manual in PDF format (also German) but is already downloadable from the web site. The Storm is again one to two classes better than the Petzl and delivers 100 lumens over a so-called triple power LED and is fully dimmable digital. It has a waterproof casing to IPX7! So for 30 min. Waterproof to 1m depth Waser. The Storm is addressed to the semi-professional climbers. In weight but also with security top for joggers, etc. -. 110g incl "" "4 AAA batteries" "". It has a similar design / function like the Petzl - so no extra battery compartment on the back of the head. All functions of the Storm are like the Petzl via a switch / intelligent electronic control, plus the possibility of red light - for example in map reading, etc.
I think the Storm is about 50, - cost on the European market - for the offered management a truly fair price in my opinion. As soon available - 1,2,3, mine ;-)
