Okay, I admit it 'that sounds pretty verschwurbelt. I do not want spoilers stop. To be more specific: It reminds me of the movie "Memento". Although he has a very different story. But where "Memento" like a drill milled into the past of the protagonist, enters "predestination" gradually in the various stages of a seemingly absurd journey through time. The setting is always limited in space, staff limited to a few figures, aligned the actions of the characters according to the principle "show, do not tell". What has led at least in my case, to the fact that I had to at the end of the film the story only once tell yourself again.
Fancy decoration is the "Future of the Past": The story was written in 1958. In the film, the view takes in the sixties the utopias of this period, as we know from older SF movies, sent by costumes and Interior Design on. So, as you might have perhaps introduced in the fifties, the sixties' in the sixties or the ominous "2000". Here is the film itself to a journey through the imaginary worlds of past generations.
Finally, a quote from the literary original, perhaps to help bring a little light into the darkness:
"I know where I came from'but where did all you zombies come from? (...) You are not really there at all. There is not anybody but me'Jane'here alone in the dark."
