One can argue about the design. I have this watch winder - after a lengthy investigation - selected and bought because suits my style. What has also led me to buy, is the fact that the device is "Made in Germany" is. But that's about the problem: for about 115 there is just not much in return, at least when it was manufactured in Germany.
Good:
- Differs from the mass of the winder design.
- Simple and quick installation of the clock.
- Space for large clock.
- 2m-long supply line to the power adapter.
- Battery operation possible.
- Smooth running
- Retaining spring can be bent ... if the registered office of the clock is not tight enough (however not officially provided as an option!).
- Number of rotations / 24 definitely enough to keep my chronograph in transition. Half would most likely be enough (rotational phase about 33 sec. = About 4 turns, with battery operation, due to the slower run, only about 3 turns, stop phase about 188 sec. In my calculation that makes for AC / DC supply about 1700 revolutions / 24h).
- Option double watches headband (30)
- Made in Germany.
Not so good ::
- Thin-walled, lightweight plastic body with an open bottom / battery compartment (When unpacking comes somehow disappointment ... it 135?).
- Switch is located on the battery compartment. To actuate the Gera has to be raised.
- A quiet "Rödeln" is still perceptible even at a distance. Not at all disturbing. However, not really suitable for the nightstand. But since I would in general not up winder. Also "very low" or "whisper" would be me as too loud).
- No sound-absorbing rubber feet or felt pads (they should inferior definitely effective insulation material, otherwise the engine sounds audible are).
- Motor stops in any position on the rotary phase. Watches are so now and then completely on its head. In safe or cabinet I would not care. Situated in the open shelf, sees a - upside - dial crazy.
- Apart from Clockwise rotation / off / counter-clockwise rotation, no options for further rotation intervals (for example, for a few revolutions But that was clear to me in my buying decision..
Despite some criticisms, I have decided to reserve the unit. The optimum winder will not find in this price range, certainly not from German production. Incidentally, I hope - what the shelf life is concerned - on "German quality". For one or another point of criticism is relatively easy can also remedy ... eg soundproofing underlay and timer for nighttime shooting break.
Note:
Make some other vendors in the details on this device the following statement: "Battery operation with intermittent: (unit turns per minute for one revolution a; This gives a battery life of about 12 months)." Because in my manual is no mention of such a feature, I have held consultation with the company. MTE. According to MTE these details are out of date for battery operation. There is no battery operation with particular intermittent wipers (more). There is also not a model "2015".
