The dimensions of the case are not specified hence the confusion.
The generic term "Silicone Protective Case for HDD 6.35cm (2.5 Inch)" is misleading.
In fact the interior dimensions of this case are: L x W (W): 13.9 x 7.8 (rather 7.7) mm.
Now compare with the dimensions of the various DD announced ext 2.5 "L x W Samsung M3 x H: 11.2 x 8.2 x 18 millimeters, Western Digital Elements L x W x H: 11.1 x 8.2 x 21 mm or with Toshiba their 11.9 x 7.9 x 15 millimeters.
The conclusions follow them yourself. If its height is good for all external hard drives 2.5 inch, inside this case Samsung and other WD are positioned obliquely relative to the horizontal, which is not so in the case horizontal I received.
Although it is not a millimeter, I wonder how the happy owners of Toshiba could house their dd without forcing a little "perfect dimensions" of this case (to paraphrase one commentator).
I do not recommend this.
To have some, my preferences go rather to the cases "Case Logic" (Case Logic EHDC101B - cheaper than this article or QHDC101K a little more expensive) more suitable for ext dd 2.5 '' Samsung and WD. In writing this review I learn something I did not know: the "Case Logic QHDC101K" have a warranty Manufacturer: 25 year (s). Perhaps a marketing spin but it is still a sign of quality.
