After several uses, I can say that the service is 100%. The stream is captured to mp4 file sizes reasonable and flawless quality up to 1080p, and display of the game does not suffer any slowdown mode "real time". The integrated remote control makes all possible operations and from my sofa effortlessly.
If I had to find fault with this would be:
- The lack of built-in HDD. While this is one of the cheapest on the market despite its higher level of complexity (it is a real small pc alone), the fact of having to buy itself a 2.5-inch drive makes its price less competitive.
- The lack of WiFi connectivity. File transfer via the USB port of the unit can be tedious, especially for large volumes. However, such connectivity would certainly have dramatically raised the price of the unit.
Using an external drive to the USB port as a recording medium allows both to avoid buying an internal hard drive and simplify the copying of data to the PC, but I do not have yet tested the quality of the recorded video as well, which might be suffering from lower transfer rate compared to USB SATA (internal drive).
