That said, the read performance is increased compared with the SATA II, although far from a native Sata III, and on write performance, there is not no gain for me. (After bench with Crystal Disk)
In short ass was a little between two chair with this card.
In addition, it adds a nag screen of pc, ok I nitpick it adds two seconds to start up, but still when one pays a SSD + the card is not to lose two seconds unnecessarily.
We read in some reviews that the use of the port for this PCIe x4 card can curb the PCIe x16 graphics card.
This is true in my case if I do not install the drivers for my CG (stupid thing but I'm curious My CG: GTX 570), but once the drivers are installed there is no problem, it remains well 16x.
Concerning an SLI or Crossfire by against I do not know what it can give.
Rest intake of two USB 3 ports that can still be useful to some. I had the opportunity to test with an external USB HDD 3 and really, that's class. No common with the slow USB transfers 2.
If you want to boost (just visible bench .. but in practice I doubt ..) your SSD, I would not recommend. Stay Sata II the difference is not worth the trouble, I recall, nothing like a REAL Sata III.
However if you also have USB 3 in gear, so why not, the gain is very significant.
Hence my rating would not gun down the card, otherwise I would have put a star less through a purely use "upgrade SSD."
Having no USB devices 3 to me, it's a purchase I'll be past me if I could test it before :)
