- Strapless design for fast uncomplicated change of hard drives. They are simply the way they are inserted into the housing. However, there is no ejection mechanism so dasss the rack has to be tilted in order to remove them again later may, but is not a problem!
- Very quiet for 40 mm ratios fan which is virtually inaudible at a distance of 1-2 meters. (Also from the vicinity is the sound not annoying, just a faint, subtle whirring is heard!)
- Solid aluminum housing crafted from good quality, that gives a valued, competent impression right away.
- Efficient cooling of the hard drives: A Samsung HD204UI achieved in my continuous operation eg max. 37 ° C, in comparison to the PC depending on the room temperature ~ 27-32 ° C, thus safe Hitezenwicklung!
- High seq transfer rates for reading and writing: Via USB 3.0 to the 90-100 MB / s, USB 2.0, the maximum possible with this protocol Tranferrate.!
- Power saving feature turns the drive during periods of inactivity (after about 5 min.) From. The re-awakening the new data is accessed promptly and without problems or delays!
The front cover can be locked so that it is excluded that an inserted disk in doubt during transport at the wrong slope it out falls, although the well-snap front cover that actually should already impossible on its own, but you never know!
The only small, minor gripe, are a little too intense for my taste luminous two blue preparedness and access LEDs front top of the case (red and a little less bright, would certainly have been more pleasant), but at a pinch you can this during operation indeed cover or place the case in accordance with ...
In addition, one would have tolls. a slightly longer connection cables desired: The supplied black USB 3.0 cable has a length of one meter. Who needs a longer, it may be necessary, such a rebuy accordingly!
Otherwise, I would recommend this case due to its unproblematic, trouble-free operation, the good-quality processing quality at very universal use - I use it both on your PC, laptop, as well as playbacks on my "HDI Dune Smart D1" Media Player - only fully recommend !
The PLV is considering the quality offered and functions / features also completely in my opinion, okay!
PS: The rack is on and purely for itself ". It could be interpreted HDDs quite possible, however, that through the use of an appropriate adapter and 2.5" for the use of 3.5 can be used in HDDs (can I but did not say with certainty, because I only the 3.5 "-er use!)

=====================
Unfortunately, a problem found after less than a year of regular but not excessive use of the housing, the annoyingly necessitated the purchase of a new Exmplares for me. After replacing an HDD and locking the front door, this was later suddenly under no circumstances more open because apparently the locking mechanism was broken. The only way to remove the hdd back, was ultimately the fact the front door violently break out (in three parts, they met me eventually. Something really should not happen with an external hard drive enclosure for ~ 60, which is why I devalue the product, unfortunately, to 2 star needs. It also appears not necessarily to be an isolated incident, since I've read to research on the Internet by other users that you again go after some time of use of the housing the same. After all I have when you purchase the replacement housing "only" ~ must pay 40. We can only hope that this misery will not be repeated with the new housing. A third time will / I certainly would not acquire housing that is!
Interestingly, and to my surprise, the new (identical) MR-35U3, which I was delivered, but now a few differences from the copy to which I had previously in use:
1) The power supply is a very different and appear / no longer acts as quality: to recognize the adapter itself (small), the cheaper / thinner (poor shielded) cable and the lack of a Feritkernes, weches still at the end of the first ( cable was toward the housing). Because of course I still possess the intact power supply of the first case, there is no problem (use this course) but it is negative on!
2.) The 40 mm fan, which still permanently ran with my old MR-35U3 after turning the housing (speed control depending on the measured temerature, I have the detail on a PC with selected temperatures under continuous load a HDD test) now jumps apparently only at a certain threshold temperature. With a HD103SJ of Samsung, this figure was ~ 40 ° C. If the fan is running, it is, however, even quieter than that of the first copy (it is likely that here Series scattering exists, so you guarantee the volume / smoothness of the fan in which each copy, unfortunately, that does not get the individual buyers can) but the circumstance described nonetheless worries me, as a permanent held by active ventilation at ~ 35 ° C HDD is better than one that is allowed to first be heated to 40 ° C as it is just one of a proven / researched fact that higher temperatures will shorten the life expectancy of a HDD not irrelevant (the actual temperatures of Samsung HDDs eh 5-8 ° C should be higher than this are read / displayed, which should coincide with the handgeühlten impression when removing the HDD!)
3.) On the positive I values - and can be seen until now in comparison - that the detent action of the front cover of the new copy is much more concise / clearer than it has been the case with my first case since commissioning. This leaves me to also draw the conclusion that the first copy was probably acquired from me exhibited from the outset a defect, without me having it recognized directly!
