The first impression when you unpack: subjectively, it seems to be much more massive than the Alpha in 2500. Lens, however, it is only slightly heavier.
The structure is fixed. Knobs on the legs press, leg fold to 180, at the desired snap point fix (2 positions). The leg length is set by rotary catches on the telescopic transitions. That takes compared to the clip closures of Alpha in 2500 a little longer, but it provides a better, because more trustworthy feeling.
In the rubber feet of the 3 telescopic legs spikes are integrated, the screw when required by the rubber feet are extended, thus ensuring even off-road secure the tripod is stable.
All connections of moving parts are made of metal (except for the Entriegelungsknöpfchen) and give an impression dtabilen.
The center column has a metal hook to stabilize the tripod by weighting addition and to move the focus down.
This is useful and helpful especially when fully extended center column for maximum height.
Fully extended (1.54M) is the height for me (1,80m) perfectly in order to look through the viewfinder of the camera can be set without having to bend down.
Even when fully extended and with 300mm telephoto lens on the camera is the tripod
safe and stable.
The quick release plate is made of cast metal with 2 foam rubber inlays on the top. To secure the quick release plate on the camera comes with the AmazonBasics stand the quick-release plate due to the material with a central slot and 'loose' screw therefore. Compared to the fixed eye, the quick release plate of Alpha had 2500, could be regarded as the Naxhteil.
I feel it but to get over well as due to the significantly more robust version of the quick release plate.
Ever played the whole tripod regarding haptics and quality in a different league than the Alpha 2500th
In particular, the ball head while party to the plastic 3-way pan head of the Alpha 2500 clearly lost ground.
The friction is very finely dosed and 'attacks' fast Zund reliably, without the need to tighten excessively tight.
For videographers also of interest is likely to be that the attenuation of the horizontal bearing is excellent. Smooth and 'smoothe', even pans make thanks to the perfect dosing of friction is not a problem - even without levers.
Last but not least: all 3 legs (!!!) are fitted in the upper part with foam rubber, which makes carrying the tripod on cold days more pleasant.
My conclusion: More tripod for less money would have been frivolous. Since it does not bother me that the part was probably produced in China.
Those like me who are looking for a solid, confidence-Tripod with Ball Head, can safely access here.
I do not regret to have gained me no Mantona because more than this tripod I do not need. So why pay more ?!
