The mouse pointer does not respond well to a smooth surface. That means you should not use a mouse pad or other shiny surface grained /. On a matt black disk of the pointer was just jerking on. On a brilliant beech worktop it works at all. However, since the mouse is used only at my laptop as a replacement (if in the wired mouse again the cable breaks) I'll keep it. So if you use a mouse pad, can use the mouse. Who has the right desk as backing, should not be surprised if it does not work well.
