Much TV at a fair price! Samsung F6500 Review

The Samsung UE55F6500 I bought as a replacement for my "old" 40 inch LCD Sony. Decisive for the purchase were the significant increase in the screen size and the (hopefully) improved image quality for me.
After a trial period with the new TV I want you like to reflect my experiences and impressions.

Delivery / assembly / interfaces
--------------------------

In addition to the TV unit is supplied with a stand in silver, an instruction manual, 2 Active Shutter 3D Glasses (SSG-5100GB), the power cable, a "normal" remote control and a special touch remote control.
The assembly should be performed at least for the large 55 "device of 2 people. I put the TV unit on my bed and then mounted the pedestal using the 8 screws.
Even as a layman you can not go far wrong here.
Visually, the Samsung looks simple and elegant, and stands firmly on the included stand.
With 4 HDMI ports, the device offers enough space for various multimedia devices. In addition, three USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet and a wireless interface available.
For the television signal a Triple tuner with DVB-T (terrestrial), DVB-C (cable TV) and DVB-S2 (SAT) is responsible. To unlock Pay-TV channels is a CI card slot available.

Operation:

The first time the Samsung the new owner is welcomed by the setup wizard. About this it is easy possible to configure the entire device make. The station search runs swiftly through the WLAN is found right away, and even the present on the network hard drive to view photos easily.
To operate two remote controls are included, on the one hand a "normal" standard remote control and on the other a touch remote control.

The image quality

The Samsung is working with the so-called EDGE LED method, which means that the entire screen is lit on the present in the left and right frame LEDs. In this process it is unfortunately often unevenly illuminated panels, as well as the UE55F6500.
However, the uneven distribution of brightness keeps this machine under.
I tested the image with DVB-S2 material (SAT) on the built-in tuner and an external receiver, SD material and a Blu-Ray movie.
The picture quality when viewing HD channels has pleased me very well. The colors are crisp, movements are sharp but not over-sharpened and the image quality is also readjust without big. The SD material looks rather mediocre, the colors are a bit washed out and watch movies from slightly blurred.
Rapid movements in Blu-Ray movies is the Samsung smoothly. With the default settings me has the image quality when Blu-Ray material but can not convince. In various Internet forums, however, can be found optimized settings to the movie experience to increase significantly.
TVs with LED technology have always the problem that is not really black in black but rather goes into gray. The F6500 does its job well and convinces with a good black display.
The 3D function could convince myself only moderately. In two 3D films tested, there was double vision and blurred edges. Comfort the supplied glasses is mediocre, but as these are indeed easily sit (at least for me) not good.

Sound, gaming capabilities and software

The built-in speakers are typical of a flat screen TV in the price range. For the "normal" user completely sufficient, you would like to hear a special sound experience it is advisable to join a separate sound system.
The gaming capabilities I tested with my PlayStation 3 and the game Call of Duty Ghosts. This is a fast shooter where response time is required. I could not detect any input lag. The gaming experience has always been good, there were no streaks or other negative characteristics.
In software terms it concerns with the F6500 to a small computer. Whether Skype, Youtube or Facebook with the Samsung are the buyer produces more than 300 apps. But also support the new streaming services such as LOVEFiLM. Thus, it is no longer absolutely necessary to visit the video library :-)
The software ran very smoothly in my test and there were no crashes.

Conclusion:

The Samsung F6500 is overall a solid middle-class TV with many extra features at a fair price. The image quality is heavily dependent on raw material (HD or SD) dependent, but the 3D image could not convince me. The features include a triple tuner, WiFi, recorder function, energy class A + and more than 300 more than good apps.
Even for players of TV due to the low input lag is suitable easily.
Overall, the Samsung F6500 is worth the money and will most buyers a lot of joy.
