- Wiffi SD card reader / USB HDD reader
- Battery Charger (3000 mAh)
- WiFi Hotspot function (up to 5 users simultaneously access the Filehub and the Internet)
- Multi-user access
*** Delivery and first impression ***
The Filehub is delivered in an attractive and stable printed box that also ideally suited for the safe transportation. The Filehub can be easily removed without cutting of plastic inlets. The Filehub is very narrow and very compact dimensions. I welcome the material used: white glossy plastic which acts very stable.
Hardware Technically the device is practically designed: On the left, we have to charge an on / off switch and the Micro-USB slot. A charging cable provides that manufacturers are practically at the same. At the front of Filehubs we have the slots for an SD card or USB stick. Also fitted is a button with which a reset can be performed.
On the top there are several status LEDs have the following functions:
- Battery level indicator (Full battery / battery - WiFi indicator a (device, Wifi unwilling / device / equipment in the mobile data mode without WLAN)
- Internet LED (wifi signal present / not connected)
- R / W read / write LED (stable / read device connection, writes)
*** Commissioning and function ***
Basically, any popular Apple iOS device, connect Android device and PC / Laptop to the Filehub. Android and iOS users have to download from the relevant market, the APP "AirStor". With this app you're looking for in the networks to Filehub and turns it by Erstkennwort. The password can of course later also change how the display name on the network (SSID)
The app does not come from AirStor RAVPower (Manufacturer: 7Power Technology), use with the Filehub but works smoothly. You can browse easily through the app through the files and folders from the inserted SD card in Filehub or USB stick / HDD. depending on the application, data between mobile / tablet and the Filehub can move, copy, download. This worked very well and fast in practice. The app is available in German and can be easily after a short training phase use.
For PC / laptop users, the program "MobileFun" is necessary for the use of Filehubs. The program is offered directly on the website for download by the manufacturer:
[...]
The operation is similar to the App-Solutions: Is the Filehub turned on, it appears in MobileFun program in the Device List. There you have to select the device and register via User Name / Password. The main menu various configuration settings can be made: User provisioning, file browser, network, services, and system setup wizard.
Here it is recommended to configure the same Internet access via Wi-Fi through the wizard. Coupled to its own wireless durchgeschlffen be up to 5 connections. Any user can be either on the Filehub and access the Internet. In practice, with major sites (news sites, shopping sites) I was able to notice any slowdown in browsing speed.
The program "MobileFun" looks rather simple from the graphical user interface and is quite simple. The Explorer features are similar to the APP solution AirStor .... So create folders, upload data, data download etc. handling the PC, however, is in this respect a little easier. The summon of Thumnails is somewhat slower than on the phone with me on the PC. Who calls the file by name and no thumbnails needs can call the folder structure directly in Explorer and navigate it. Here it is not possible to download entire folders directly. I could only do not believe, but in the manual is written "Downloading a folder or folders is currently not supported." The multiple upload and download on the phone about AirStor by Point and select the other hand was not a problem.
It supports the following file types:
For Android:
Audio: MP3, AAC, M4A, WAV AIFF,
Video: MP4, MOV, m4vm, avi
Photo: JPG, TIFF, BMP, GIF
In IOS:
Audio: MP3
Video: MP4
Photo: JPG, PNG
Charging: We connected a consumer via the USB port, it is loaded with 1A charging current. As I have already external Power Batteries of RAVPower in use, I'll probably use this feature rare. with 3000mAh can this function also likely see a "gimmick", because there is as I said already clearly stärkerere batteries on the market.
*** Summary and Conclusion ***
For a reasonable price RAVPower now offers a Filehublösung with which SD cards and USB sticks can easily be integrated into a data network and opens up to the user or the users as well many possibilities of use.
