Multimedia Top Games flop

I wonder indeed what ASUS has been thinking of combining a top processor with an entry-level graphics card. The only sensible answer can only be that the computer is designed exclusively for professional purposes (music, video or photo editing), as an office computer (the processor actually is already too strong for a clean office system and the PC too expensive) or purely as a multimedia system for home, for people who do not play computer games, or if then only occasionally and only old games. Say, is not a panacea for this PC and the price is relatively high.

I now had the opportunity to try the M51AD-DE020S and had at the end of mixed feelings.

The build quality is great, nothing rattles in the housing, the housing itself is stiff and nothing creaks or squeaks. The appearance of the tower is solid and simple, no unnecessary frills, no cheap plastic.

After unpacking I have the included keyboard and mouse connected and put the PC into operation. Mouse and keyboard are also processed properly and give no cause for criticism.

Immediately ready to fall to the low volume of the fan. The PC is very quiet in operation, and later when he has something to be expected, it is not much louder.

Once you have clicked through the registration procedure of Windows 8, you will find yourself on the new Windows Metro interface.

After I have a few games installed, the first frustration came on. None of the current game titles really playable. Only some older titles were running without jerking.

In other disciplines, the PC beat then much better. Videos in Full HD are given liquid again, the sound of the videos, but also of music is outstanding.

The display image on my IPS screen is excellent. Colors are intense and clear contrasts high and the brightness is well.

The entire working speed, even when other applications I would call fast. All windows and applications open without delays.

All in all, the PC gets 4 stars from me. A star deduction is available for the lack of playability. A current PC system should be able to play at least be one or the other current game able.
