So for those who are wondering: Yes, this drive is truly multi-zone! I myself had big doubts for purchase, given the competitive prices, but those doubts were unfounded.
It perfectly reads my French and my dvd dvd Americans with no problems (no need to select an option or anything, it automatically detects the zone).

By cons, it does not read my Dvix (but I'm so glad to finally read my foreign DVD, I do not care a bit).

Warning! The reader has a decision-English stream, and everything is in English. The use of the player is very simple, so not really need a manual if you do not understand. For shooting, I bought an adapter at 6 euros, and the problem was resolved.
