My book on the deserted island!

If I love from the many, many books that I appreciate and, one as would turn out my favorite book, then would be the "New York Stories" by Dorothy Parker, which are now available in German unfortunately only available second hand purchase again. Why? The short stories represent small, extremely concise selected sequences from the life, but so delightfully presented differently, that I could almost burst into enthusiastic shouts. Without any pathos and with a beauty of language, which makes me go to their knees in admiration, Parker portrays small events of life and love that exactly meet a point that we have ever experienced and we think: "Oh yes , just as it is. (And no different. ;-)) In addition, Parker has an incomparably dry, ironic humor that takes the rich on the grain and always, even in the saddest story to a "laughter through tears" seduced. These stories just right alles.Die This edition also includes an additional 13 stories and numerous "skits" and thus represents a comprehensive collection of short prose Parkers. The English, however, is demanding, but I think this book is for a better introduction to her work than her poetry (poems in a foreign language are often terribly hard, not quite as bad, but still difficult enough: better begin with the stories).

Dorothy Parker is a wrongly somewhat forgotten author, you can not recommend it enough !!! Thank you for this book!
