I love to go a-wandering
Along a mountain track
And as I go, I love to sing
With my knapsack on my back
Val-de-ri val-de-ra
Val-de-ri val-de-ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Val-de-ri val-de-ra
My knapsack on my back
from "Burning Sky" ...
and just as sound Bad Company ...
after the end of "Free" is a bunch of people (Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke) have made their way to carry the old tradition the blues and the rock on the road. Reinforcement they got from Mott the Hoople (Mick Ralphs) and King Crimson (Boz Burrell), similar to Free swinging the bandwidth between the acoustic blues song and the relatively hard rockers, machnmal it is even slightly "heavy" - a "heritage "Mott the Hoople ?. But it always remains with their feet firmly rooted in the English blues rock.
As supergroup "decried" they had with their first album "Bad Co" quite a success, the successor "Straight Shooter" and "Run with the Pack" was also successful. By "Burning Sky" it was less, "Desolation Boulevard", the disc 5 represented here, only splashed along. With "Rogh Diamonds", the last Bad Company-disc of the first phase, not represented here, it came to an end, although with "Electric country" one of the best songs is included at all.
The "problem" of Bad Company was well that they remained the Blues Rock always connected, on each disc, there are 2 or 3 hitparadendtaugliche (mostly) Rocker, but in between the musicians take a contrast Progrannm with more or less simple Blues Rock - musically always done well and with the outstanding voice of Paul Rodgers always a pleasure.
Conclusion: Ordinary to excellent handmade music of tradition of the British Blues Rock, rarely more, never less.
At least 2 (Bad Co and Straight Shooter) belong to any "ordinary" collection, the other 3 disks are on average still considerably better than what comparable bands have delivered from this period.
Can I buy without hesitation, for the currently called 13.99 a bargain.
