First, to my technical "Situation":
I have been more than 6 years, the Logitech Z-5500 Digital as a home cinema system. This I will again evaluate extensively in a separate review.
How is that over time, one or the other device comes time to do so. Through my uncle as a small home theater freak so I am come on the taste of a network receiver, as I also would like to use as a central / integrate these.
Become really aware of this device I am on Black Friday, as the device on Amazon for 299, - Euro was offered.
So I looked straight times to the device properties and test reports. For a receiver of the entry-level of this device is indeed very lavish. Unfortunately I have not slammed on time, so that the unit back to the normal price of - was offered EUR - I think - 359,.
I have back and over sets a week but me the device and the previously written reviews have convinced :-) so the Denon AVR-X1100W was appointed.
2 days later I opened the box full of anticipation.
The first impression was good, the device has a built-in transformer left, which also certainly brings something on the scales. The processing is in my AVR peak, everything is good, and nothing wobbles or creaks. The feel of the buttons convinced. The remote control is also fine. Here expect Although many buttons, but gives each individual a sense very quickly.
Receiver installed and wired first at rest and connected. For some reason I was optimistic and guessed that the receiver would remain, so I joined him directly fixed and have integrated it into my system (so nothing provisionally - right right).
Side note: I have not the receiver sample belongs calibrate without him.
I have my Logitech center, front and rear satellite directly connected to the AVR and the subwoofer to the Denon Sub Out RCA -> plug to the control unit of Logitech. Works incidentally Prima.
I turned on the receiver and set it up thanks to the on-screen instructions for me easy to understand, be measured and adjusted to my existing speaker system.
Then we drove to the listening:
I was quite amazed what the Denon rausholte out of my now 6 year old system. Clean separate heights, precise separation of LPF frequencies and selected dissemination of sound sequences and details of the effect speakers.
I run him in Eco mode because I often use him. It does its job perfectly as a home cinema control center. The decoder recognizes all input signals are connected an LG 3D plasma, a PS3 and a PS4.
Really liked my profound settings and personal adjustment in the Quick-Selects.
The app is used intensively and works just fine.
I have a Windows Home Server, which provides about 400 GB of music via DLNA Twonky host in my home network available. The receiver detects the Twonky Server immediately and invariably plays everything. So far I have had no problems. The title I'm looking for then simply from the app.
The power consumption is about 41 watts at M.Vol.52 - Prima. Sonically not forfeiting be heard.
Even the sound of cinema knows how to convince. Have the receiver a Lord of the Rings - subjected to BlueRay Extended Marathon. I was excited. Looping the HDMI signals works perfectly. Ie, can I record the image no quality defects.
Since I have the receiver, he has already received 3 software updates from Denon and does so really excellent. Nice to see that Denon continues to be supplied even its smallest member of the "X Series" with updates.
Spotify Connect works perfectly, everything as it should.
4K Passtrough plays no role for me as I had neither visual material, nor an appropriate playback device. But I am completely satisfied with FullHD - the times only marginally ;-)
Zone 2 works just fine, but the connections are needed in the not too distant future for bi-amping.
The only negative is the delayed playback with Bluetooth playback. I look while streaming my example on my laptop a YouTube video to the audio signal via Bluetooth to the receiver, I have around one second asynchrony.
The problem I have temporarily solved with a mini Bluetooth dongle, which receives its power from the front USB port, moreover.
That bothers me actually also not great, as I have also attached a Chrome stick and can play for example. YouTube videos on the TV and the sound is then passed via ARC or optical cable to the receiver.
All in all a great entry-level device. With me he will stand longer, he fulfilled all my wishes and the sound is really excellent. I do not think there is anything better in this price range and would recommend this receiver really unlimited. Am really fully satisfied.
The medium-term next destination is a new home theater speaker system on the plan. It is expected that the Teufel Ultima 40 MK2 surround Set 5.1.
I will write again what the amplifier in bi-amping can. Through 7 separate power amps I'm there but no worries.
