Customer Review

In this review I will explain you my experience with Speedlink Gravity VEOS 2.1 sound system and explain how I'm ever come to this sound system. The system I wanted to use as a small sound system for music and movies on my laptop.

If you have already decided on the Speedlink, and only want to read about it, skips the marked * area. All others I would like to follow a decision-making basis offer which is of course highly subjective!

At the beginning of my search for an affordable, yet usable sound system, I had ultimately limited my choices after some compare and test reports on four sound systems between 50 and 100 Euro:

- Edifier C2 + [~ 100]
- Wavemaster Moody [~ 80]
- Logitech Z523 [~ 60]
- Speedlink Gravity VEOS [~ 50]

Logitech:
Motivated by my old Logitech Z3 2.1 sound system I have again decided in the first instance for Logitech Z523 and bought this. Visually I really liked only the subwoofer was covered with a kind of film that threatens to chip fast the system. Unfortunately, I was even more disappointed with the sound. The satellites have quite failed without the bass: very faded, dull, almost suppressed highs and mids. Of course the bass like Logitech knew accustomed to convince: very powerful, but also much too dominant. Overall, the sound was mainly influenced by the powerful, muffled bass treble and midrange are completely sunk in it. In addition, since the left satellite was much quieter than the right, and also disturbing rattled already at medium volume I brought back the system.

Edifier:
With the feeling that you spend more just yet would have to obtain reasonable sound, I jumped on the more expensive Edifier C2 + and Wavemaster Moody. At first I could test the Edifier C2 + with a friend. Overall, the system really did convince. Both the processing and the sound experience were convincing. Treble, mid and bass are nicely separated the volume is neat and it distorts nothing. The decisive reason why I decided ultimately to the C2 + was the price. For a really brilliant sound could not offer this system and as the price jump from 100 no longer is too big in the next best class, I would probably rather just tend this class when I take so much money in hand.

Wavemaster:
So the Wavemaster Moody and the Speedlink Gravity VEOS remained which approximately 30 from each other. The Wavemaster Moody I could also antesten short and was immediately impressed by the powerful bass and clear treble. Only the centers were as so often just get far too thin in this price range. Overall, however, I was given a loud, powerful system that not distorted even at high volumes. Nevertheless, compared to VEOS is unjustified. To anticipate: The Gravity VEOS also provides a full bass and great highs and the volume can be raised without distortion. The processing I liked both systems equally. The difference in price is now probably above all in the fact that the Wavemaster offers at 65 watts, while the Speedlink VEOS provides only 30 watts. Here, the decision was therefore a question of the power required. Because I wanted to use the sound system anyway only to my laptop and not at parties or sonication large rooms, I decided finally to buy the Speedlink VEOS and the same system of my best comparison.

With what the system knows to convince?
Especially the price in relation to the due performance are probably the argument par excellence. For 50, I received a system that is really great processed and still very good offers (for this price category!) Sound.

The satellites are very nice to look at (piano finish) and well finished. The weight is not all too high, but the satellites are safely on the desk. The tonal work like so heights also be played loudly from the small boxes very clear and when required. The centers are, as so often in this segment rather thin, but for the price acceptable. I particularly like the conditional through the design orientation of the speakers towards the head (if you for sitting at the desk). This achieved a sound optimal.

At the subwoofer box I noticed when unpacking once the good workmanship. Everything is very clean and complete with small rubber feet vibrate the bass not too hard on the underlying premises. Very positive positioning of the on / off switch and the bass / treble / volume control is on the side (!) Of the subwoofer. This one has to when adjusting not fully crawl under the desk and has this always in view! The Bass and Treble are set separately at all, of course, is another plus point!

The desktop remote is a nice addition, the sheer volume control also features a small knob on the box could have taken place. Nevertheless, it is well made and can be positioned on a non-slip rubber surface safely on the desk.

Another point that I often read in reviews, is background noise or noise. When VEOS I could fortunately find any noise or interference - and I must say in fairness that I could perceive such in any of the gest most systems.

A small complaint are the thin cable from the satellite. . Here, for example, Logitech stable acting cable was included - but I do not expect that the thin cable of Speedlink VEOS are exceptionally fragile.

Overall, I am more than happy with my choice. The interplay between satellites and subwoofer is very well done for a small price. The bass is quite a presence and can also neatly humming (positive!) But he never imposes itself as dominant in the foreground, as is often experienced with Logitech systems. Instead, you get a well-balanced sound in which the treble, mid and bass play together clean. If necessary, it can also cause some noise without distorting the treble or bass is disturbing. I tested alongside bass-heavy electro minimal tech house sounds and rock and Akkustikstücke and loved also here by the clear sound reproduction. Managed to convince the sound at a movie playback: voices were clear and intelligible and loud, under painted with music action scenes vigorously but never disturbing.

My conclusion: For 50 euros you really makes nothing here! The processing of sound, the volume and the optics lead to the conclusion that the Speedlink Gravity VEOS 2.1 sound system is my personal price / performance winner. For this reason, I give full 5 stars because my personal expectations and requirements are met to a system in this price range, if not have even been surpassed!
