NAVIGON 8410 - No, thank you!

NAVIGON 8410 navigation system (12.7 cm (5 inches) real glass display, Western & Eastern Europe 40 countries, Bluetooth, TMC Pro, Real City 3D, Voice Interaction Pro) If it were just about the undoubtedly good map display in my evaluation of the Navigon 8410, so I would have perhaps carried away by 4 points. Take almost 30 days full of frustration, where I was brought again and again to despair this Navi, I can only advise: Stay away from this half-baked part!

The following are some examples of why my judgment so crushingly fails:

TMC or TMCPro worked with myself after hours of non-urban driving, although the connection cable was laid even on the dashboard. Drive from Solingen to Bayern = 750km: 30min. TMC reception in Ulm! Return to Solingen: TMC signal between Karlsruhe and Mannheim for 1h, before and after there was silence! What far more importantly for me, is the sloppy programming Navigon !!! I never know if the unit is in standby mode or power-off mode. Flawlessly can be called the DVB-T TV reception with the optional TV module. The time of the saved recordings, but does not match the real time but system time minus an hour! To make an absolute screamer which time drama, I must mention that the recorded kml.files even lag in the presentation in Google Earth two hours behind the real time! Any questions? Only the high price has again and again prevented me from throwing my Navigon out the window. My luck was that Amazon has withdrawn without objection after almost 30 days This botch. Have me a little later the Falk Vision 700 purchased. TMC and GPS function thanks to built-in antennas often even in enclosed spaces. The device, although I can only time consuming, but if desired, configure fully according to my needs. The voice recognition works well and logically. About the so-called on-board computer display appears to me in detail about my trip. Only the map display is detailed in Garmin and Navigon, but otherwise I can Falk Vision 700 only recommend.
If after this review but someone decide for 8410, please do not complain and say it, I was not made aware. And another note for Vuvuzela damaged TV viewers: Even the annoying than noisy intro jingle can not be switched off. And who hopes as computer geek to be able to make changes to the Application Sync, just believe me: The jingle-tone lurks just like the time setting in the ROM, and this means that I change the jingle and time settings, after you restart the appliance all the same again.
