In my opinion, make the hoses a good overall impression of quality, each LED in the tube (not crimped!) Each with a short length of wire, which is placed in a short loop soldered to the two surrounding resistors. By soldering the joints are mechanically stable and are additionally protected by the stranded loop, so that even with frequent winding and unwinding any breakages can be expected (which conventional incandescent tubes not rare).
I have the power of lights hoses measured not separately, 6 pieces (do not remember exactly what colors) have 130 Watts consumed, which corresponds approximately to the specified power. The tubes have a power factor of cos (phi) = 0.98, which represents a very good value and also makes them easily usable by a generator or inverter without power factor correction. At the same time the high power factor indicates also indicate that the rest of the performance of a strand (([Mains voltage] - * [sum of the LED operating voltages]) [current]) is converted into heat (hence are probably so many obstacles in the tube to distributing the heat). The voltage is not smoothed by the rectifier into the power cable, which flicker the LEDs in the tube with 100Hz easily. However, this does not bother, you can see it only with rapid movements of the eyes.
The strengths in the brightness lie mainly in the white, green and blue hose, which let their light bulbs Tube predecessor far behind. The brightness of the red tube is similar to a red incandescent tube, the yellow hose I find rather disappointing (because the bulbs variant significantly lighter!). However, one must mention that the LED tubes do not even have one-tenth the power consumption of an incandescent tube and fairness.
The advertised "prism effect" I could not understand so well. The hoses are made of colorless plasticized PVC and have the LEDs and resistors inside in corresponding recesses so that they do not slip, so as you'd expect it. Of course, this gives rise to small light scattering or refraction of light on the inner edge. But either have nearly all light tubes available a prism effect or even no one has an ...
As a disadvantage I see the connection point between light hose and connecting cable, which is only carried out by a transparent heat shrink tube, which is cold (below the glass transition temperature of the material) has no sealing effect. Therefore, one should protect the hoses against rain and it may also not spray if they are dirty.
For LED life I can not comment because the hoses were with me only a few hours in operation. However, if high-quality LEDs are built in, you can look forward to a long service life of the hoses. Since I am still marked as "newbie" in LED tubes of the short life of conventional incandescent tubes, I precaution instead ordered me a long two shorter 6m tubes so that in case of failure of financial loss is not so high.
