For my purposes, the 35mm / 1.8 would have been a better choice, because the 50mm focal length on my Nikon D90 least 75mm (meaning the optical image section over a full frame sensor, for 50mm focal length remain natural 50mm), and that requires being too often at a greater distance from the subject. For this reason, one should very carefully consider what you want to use the lens.
All technical has already been explained by previous speakers, and therefore I would like to enumerate my motives for buying and my first experience with this lens to provide you with it to aid in the decision to buy to be able to hope.
My reasons for buying:
- Allows photographing in dark (not totally dark) areas without a flash and without tripod
Aperture was a must
- Have the price (as much lens and light for such a price because Nikon has made a mistake, considering the price
compares with other lens prices.
- And of course the many extremely positive reviews.
My past experience with this lens
- The objective is top class and forms extremely well from
- Really nice and soft on going Bokeh
- Women in Portraits subsequent machining is recommended with Blur ;-) as extreme sharpness
- All photos taken so far also point to a large 27 "monitor their brilliance.
For those who do not have much experience and who want to buy your first fixed focal length:
Many beautiful and brilliant photos can be seen in the example images and because one could easily fall into the idea that is responsible for the objective and you would thus necessarily have. Do not be fooled, because the (Super) Photo still makes the photographer, not the camera or lens, but they contribute to a good quality of course.
What I'm saying is this. Who until now has mostly only in Auto mode and never photographed with a fixed focal length, is initially never come to such a beautiful photos, which are featured in many of the sample images. But not immediately give up, because you just have to gain some experience in order to shoot even those images. With experience, I mean, for example, which aperture and which distance to the subject for a certain depth of field and blur etc.
The concern for the correct setting of the interplay of aperture, shutter speed and ISO for correct exposure you have in this objective due to its light intensity really rarely.
You will of course take good pictures even in AUTO mode, but only good and not those where you say "WOW"
So try, try and try again and then come soon WOW experiences.
SUMMARY:
Clear 100% recommendation to buy, because there are at this price much more objective and above all light.
I hope to have helped a little and wish you all a lot of fun with this lens.
Good light
