I had always been satisfied Windows users and never really had the need to switch to a Mac, although I have always been pleased with it.
Two weeks ago, then I am more closely with the iMacs, especially with the new product range, and then got involved but decided me go up a.
Since it was a huge investment for me as a student, I had the fact that the new iMacs were now significantly reduced forth from price, good stead.
I've been buying regretted a single moment, to have made this investment.
positive:
- The price of the new product series is unbeatable (a high-end device is at a such price and in such processing otherwise not be found)
- Only the appearance is already the hammer, no comparison to my old desktop PC (although not with me is paramount as this demanding users)
- I got the computer set up, connected to the power and after 5 minutes I was able to work with it (unique !!!, no comparison to Windows, etc.)
- So far the computer has not been a single sound, got it turned up on the night and left at selbt attentive listening he is absolutely SILENT (works by new aluminum-processing the back of Wärmeabtranpsort even better)
- Not a single crash yet
- Workflow is unique, no matter what you do, it runs smoothly
- As an advanced Office users I have come for the first time to enjoy to test iWork and I must say it beats Microsoft Office in the private sector by far (especially in terms of presentation, graphic design, simplicity); who desperately needs Microsoft Office, is also available for the Mac; in the professional field iWork is probably Microsoft Office lag somewhat. It is important to be mentioned that is easy to open with iWork Office files and can be created.
- The new iMac series now comes with the Magic Mouse supplied -> it is excellent in the hand and I would never trade again with another mouse
- Have for the university a presentation of 55 pages with Keynote (part of the iWork package) created and have for only 80 min. hand and looks better than all ever created with PowerPoint presentations, to Cf .: on my old Windwos PC I fabled 4 hours for such a presentation used, especially the switch between single programs work in my opinion on the Mac much better, what a relief in respect vilerlei working
- On graphics card: I have deliberately not buy the more expensive Mac with ATI because I knew exactly what I need; So far I have no restrictions experienced by the graphics card: HD video function properly, video editing and image processing run smoothly ... in various tests you have only described a significant difference in highly demanding games but since I do not play, that was not an issue for me , But who has the few euros more available should invest definitely in the better device, every penny is worth it, the you put in such a product.
negative:
- So hard I try hard, I can not think spontaneously nothing negative to iMac, maximum range of software that Mac OS fails somewhat reduced, but who wants zumisten such a stunt even with software garbage? ;-)
Now, everyone must decide for themselves whether such a purchase is worthwhile. I can recommend it to anyone, because anyone who has ever worked with Mac, will probably want to upgrade to Windows hardly.
After my iMac NOW 6 MONTHS was in use, here is an addition (18/04/2010):
After my iMac was now six months every day about 5 hours in operation (makes about 900 hours), I estimated 1000 different programs tested so, Progam have removed, have played games, videos have converted, and what I still know everything did so: he behaves as before, as then in the factory state. Crashes there was absolutely no one, what really surprises me, because that would be tolerable now and then, but the device or operating system is incredibly stable. The time to boot up is still the same thing in Windows is not the case yes (with any program that a felt half a second then takes longer).
Incidentally, I must say that I also for 3 months have Windows 7 running in the 64-bit version on my iMac and now about 30% of the time also working with it (especially with scientific software) and Windows runs perfectly on the iMac. According to the latest Boot Camp update Windows 7 speaks excellent on the hardware of the iMacs, which does not go unnoticed in the workflow.
I still regret a single second, to have taken the handle for iMac.
