In this book, yes it is about vampires BUT in a totally different way! You do not become a vampire after a bite, it is "marked" as a teenager by Nyx, the goddess of vampires. It was she who selected the "elected" and affix their mark on the forehead. Thus begins the transformation process that lasts 4 years after which the adolescent becomes either a vampire or it rejects processing and eventually to die ... During these 4 Annne, the novice must enter a school of vampires: The House of Night.
Thus begins the story of our heroine Zoey, who is now marked and integrates her new school and thus starts a new life!
I find this endearing heroine. During his "human" life has not always been that good times ... A mother who does not care absolutely not her ... What made her a stronger person today. It also seems that the goddess Nyx've chosen because it is really a different and unique person ... In short, this first volume is the beginnings of the history of this young girl. For now it is still a novice, but the author lets us see that it will become a really very important vampire !!
In summary, a good bit bed (rather teenager, but I also liked), sympathetic characters, a new "concept" for vampires, and a heroine who has not finished astonishing us I think !!
