When I then put it into operation for the first time I was surprised: It's damn good in the hand and the immense size suddenly feels not quite as big.
In the following I will briefly compare the key points with the Nexus 5. Possibly help the few at the decision:
Handling: Handed the N6 just limited to use, here the N5 has the nose clear front. However, the N6 in the pocket almost feels better as the N5. This is probably due to the smooth form.
Processing: Both Nexen are super processed, the metal frame around the N6 is however first class. It feels completely valent as the N5.
Display: Here are the ghosts. The size of the N6 is for all applications of absolute firecracker, but the operation is more difficult (see below at the tips more). Also the AMOLED has compared to N5 IPS its pros and cons. I would both devices "only" provide the same level. For me personally, the AMOLED is a tick too dark.
Topic Burn-In: There are circulating on the net some reports, the report of an extremely fast burn the display. Here especially the navigation keys. After 3 days, I could not yet find - but it'll easily observed. AMOLED displays are almost always such a burn. Only the question will remain as strong this is pronounced.
Battery: distinct advantage at N6. If I had the N5 in the evening at 8 20% battery I have available with the N6 still nearly 40%.
Camera: The Nexen never had a good camera, with the N5 which had improved somewhat. And the N6 makes here a slight leap forward. Still not very good but quite usable.
Speakers: Here trumps the N6. The front speakers provide everything in the shade I could ever experience on a smartphone. Rich and loud sound. Perfect - full marks. This is with the greatest improvement compared to N5.
Features: The N6 has only one hidden Notification LED which can be activated with eg Root and Light Flow. The Ambient screen displays notifications to be great, but unfortunately is not adjustable (time, speed, etc ..). The Power-Charge function of N6 charges the battery extremely fast. Also a nice feature. For this, the N6 splashing is protected.
Conclusion: The N6 is in almost all areas a small improvement to N5..genau as it should be.

Nova Launcher: Dragging anywhere Notification bar down
SwiftKey: keyboard in one shrinks the keyboard in an area (eg the right or bottom left) can provide
Set all important apps in reach of the thumb: Operation
All in all I am satisfied with the N6. As long as the AMOLED screen branding not / slightly branding, I am very satisfied with the device. Whether I, however, final reserve - so if my 600 is justifiable reason to manageable value remains to be seen.

*** UPDATE *** after 1 month:
In short, I have kept the Nexus 6 and I would not want to give it up. In addition, I now have hidden or with a modification in the system the entire navigation bar. Characterized the usable area of the display is once again greater. I now use to navigation Pie-Control. This allows the navigation keys are activated from any display-edge (for further details please Pie-Control in the Play Store Finder).
*** UPDATE *** after 3 months:
After a good quarter of a year, I can now also be a long-term update of the Nexus 6. Currently it runs on Android 5.1 and I am more than happy (apart from 2,3 smaller spontaneous reboots but also my manual flashing may be owed on 5.1 - I did not want to wait for the OTA update). The processing and the materials look still 1a. I can not fault so far. Even two larger falls (Nexus was in a slim case) the Nexus 6 could not harm. A word about the size: In the meantime I got used to the size of 100% and would no longer want to give up such a large display in the future.
