With the camera I was now a bit on the way and have made a few thousand pictures - Houses and people as you stroll in the city, nature while hiking, traveling at night, during the day at professional events ...
My rating is based primarily on a comparison with the Lumix:
positive:
Size, appearance = pretty, compared to current very colorful and inferior-looking cameras also well made, fits comfortably in your hand. With the almost revolutionary design of the first IXUS though the camera does not come with. Furthermore, the black finish is not very impact resistant, my already first Macken (though I'm a bit violent initiated)
Functions, menu okay =
Aperture = well, makes good pictures even in low light
Battery = OK
negative:
Smart Auto = leads with me so far often to easily blurred images.
My first suspicion was that Intelligent Auto fairly long (up to one / two seconds) needed to choose a focus area, and that seems to be the case. One can clearly see the display, how the various options to be tried.
Gave me then hard not quite as fast trigger, but apparently quite arbitrary focus areas have been defined.
Example view from the mountain: The branches in the foreground are down sharply, but the road and the landscape is not behind it.
I can display the focus of your shot - the added non-professional test I see, as in a hand position with repeated testing every time different focus areas are selected. Presumably I can also choose according to the desired focus, but this I have to look at the manual again. In addition, I may not always have the time for such an adjustment.
In one or the other case, the camera has for more than 10 seconds, it does not manage to get a reasonable addition of field, for example, when shooting in the dark, of whom one has first focused into a lighter area inside.
Here I expect from a "snapshot camera" more. The Lumix has clearly bessereren results out here much faster, ie, it has the first in focus, which was in the center of the image.
Connectors, controls = On / Off at the Lumix went through a slide switch, which is less susceptible to unintentional switching on, moreover, to feel "blind" better. The flap for USB etc ports sits on flexible hinges that feels little to inspire confidence, is not convenient to open.
The attachment loop for the hand strap is attached in the middle of the flap on the connections and therefore less easy to handle as an attachment at the top of the camera (also with regard to accommodation in a camera bag with strap).
Conclusion:
The biggest drawback in my opinion is actually the blur of the yes also report other Rezensienten. I confess a love that I can certainly expand my own abilities as a cleaning woman here.
If I do not get the blur problem under control, I will unfortunately have to specify a different camera to me.
