The camera weighs 470 grams incl. Batteries. By ergometric handle the camera lies comfortably in your hand and can be kept quiet. All controls are easily accessible.
Irritated me initially that the flash must be unfolded before photographing. This is the side of a small lock. Before taking a photo, one should remove the protective cap for the lens. If you forget it and turn on the camera as an immediate indication that the camera must be turned off and then the lens cap has to be removed will be displayed.
The cover is attached to the tether and can not fall off. I think that's very practical. In my other camera, the cover must be removed and where to put it? Right! This is awkward. So I was very thankful that it works so well here.

A very detailed description can be found directly on the manufacturer side. A USB cable UC-E16 is attached (60 cm). I think that's a little too short, longer would be better.
I have the COOLPIX then connected to the computer. The camera was immediately recognized. It appeared an extra window with the camera and the available functions and actions. From here you can then import the images / videos.
When I had looked at my first shots I was excited and confident. My film camera made of not so good pictures. Above all, I was pleased with the zooming so. A very distant birds sitting in the trees could be zooming in close. The image has become great, not grainy but clear.
A small flaw but unfortunately I have yet found. When packing in a camera bag the battery cover opened. This happened several times. I'll be there to establish a larger more spacious bag to me.
The camera has an incredibly good zoom range. If you cross the 28-Zoom out into the higher range gets you back incredible images. I photographed a bird with us, which was very far away, zoom range bin in the high left and had a great shot hinbekommen. I uploaded it here once.
Side of the camera has the connectors DC IN 5.OV and USB A / V OUT, covered by a rubber cover, which can be easily opened and closed.
The camera is so easy to use that you can even do without the manual.
Conclusion: I am thrilled with the NIKON COOLPIX L340. The good zoom range has convinced me. The display is large enough, the presentation very closely and well. Of course it would have been good if a battery had been installed and no individual batteries.
I have now made a lot of photos, the camera repeatedly connected to the PC, and it is still 100% battery power display.
