Nikon D7100 has now brought the D7100 or rather the camera body on the market and, of course, a new adapted battery grip - Nikon MB-D15 - "in the race". At first glance - without holding the combination really in my hands - I'd be stated definitely that Nikon once again tries to generate on the battery grip additional income - why not fit the MB-D11 of its predecessor, the Nikon D7000 - a good question?
Since I use a battery handle (D800, D7000 and now also a D7100) for all my Nikon DSLRs, I also ordered the Battery Pack MB-D15 for D7100.
Meanwhile, I have this battery grip with the D7100 in action and I must confess that I am absolutely amazed, or rather am convinced really.
I would like to state at this point that I want to write in no case a review that deals with the basic advantages / disadvantages (the case there ever disadvantages are) using a battery grip in conjunction with a DSLR results - this information can nowadays well read in the WWW. But why at all a review for this special battery grip write?
As already mentioned, I have a Nikon D7000 with a battery grip MB-D11 and I would like to mention at this point that I do not really "happy" am with this combination - you can read about elsewhere. Of course, here are the technical conditions - additional energy and support of photographing in portrait orientation - very well supported, but the combination is "not all of a piece" and in terms of the feel - you miss the so-called "feel good feeling".
So, back to the combination D7100 and MB-D15. Nikon has here really created a product that can be described as an absolutely brilliant team in terms of feel and of course especially in conjunction with the D7100. The camera body is gaining immensely attractive and especially in conjunction with a large lens (z. B. the Nikon AF-S Zoom Nikkor 24-70mm) would be no more this combination put it down.
Yes, here too requires Nikon a really high price, but there is in my opinion no real alternative - or simply, renunciation.
