Cameras with old firmware:

Now to my camera (which is actually a model of working out new firmware; recognizable by the 6th digit of the serial number, which must not be lower than 3):
Of course, I was biased and was expecting the same high spec with my camera. So I grabbed her by easier and faster delivery (such as Amazon usual) and lay the battery pack without fully charge it first. Dement speaking of course it was not full!
I launched the camera and took some pictures with flash, which also was no problem. Then I wanted to try the video mode. But when I pressed the corresponding button was happening there:
The battery icon started to blink red and my camera turned off. I've tried it for another 2 times, always with the same result. Then I launched the camera again to see whether I could now even take pictures (which allegedly is the case with the defective products). I could still take 6 photos with flash, then the camera is turned off.
First, I felt, of course confirmed and was angry at Canon. But since I rarely leave any stone unturned to get to my will so I took the battery and invited him firstonce completely.
Then I launched the camera again, taking some pictures with the flash on and then switched to video mode. I took several, longer videos. And without that, the camera is turned off or a battery symbol blinking red would. Completely free of errors! Energy was apparently prior to full charge the battery just is not enough available to record a video, for 6 photos but it was enough. Later I was able to record videos without end with the camera, it occurred in the future no problems.
Of course, I do not know how it is with the cameras old firmware. But how Canon describes on its website is installing new firmware is absolutely simple and easy doable. I suspect that many people (understandably) not good with software (and firmware upgrades) knowledgeable or the hardware itself. I can understand that you do not even want to deal with something like that at a 200 camera. But the battery problem is known, and anyone who does not trust such, they should not buy or, as recommended by Canon in such a case, consult a dealer who then takes it easy. Moreover, it is in the camera namely in a high quality, which I think is the "cost" value.
Others wrote that her camera despite new firmware could allegedly not record videos. Have you sure new firmware? Do you still play it with the manual trying? Sometimes this helps. And the battery is fully charged? For me, for example, only the already almost empty battery the problem was.
I want to "encourage" this review (: D) to leave this great camera to buy and not be discouraged by the negative reviews. I ordered the camera recently and received an absolutely solid and flawless device. And even if this would not have been the Fasll there is still the option to install new firmware to be installed, or the camera to send back and get a new model or the money back.
