Used to control fire. Tested on a target placed about 80m with a .22 long rifle: no problem to distinguish the impacts with a magnification of 40 to 60 times. With a magnification of 20 times the impact situated in the black part of the target is more difficult to find given the distance. With a magnification of 60 times you lose a little brightness and image sharpness but it is not catastrophic.
