In my case, this insurance was offered when buying a Lumia 1520.
That said equipment has been imported from Hong Kong, the time of purchase was not apparent, and after the return of the defective device that came back untouched. In delivery I was just informed that it is a non-European instrument and it was therefore not repaired. An assumption of the costs was rejected by the insurer.
An absurdity in my opinion, because it is now commonplace to import equipment, and neither here at Amazon is still an explicit exclusion of non-European equipment in Terms of Ergo.
Since you can not see in a smartphone purchase on Amazon, if it is an imported device, I advise against this insurance.
