First, the processing is commendable to mention.
The powerful subwoofer (24x24x27 / WxHxD) made entirely of black-coated MDF, glued, aluminum-colored with a solid metal grille at the front. On the back side
springs just a 2 m long cable for connection to the separate amplifier. The approximately 1-kg satellite (9x18x14 / WxHxD) with not removable fabric covering and aluminum tweeter cover
bring with equal lengths. Thus it is relatively free in the list of components.
The amplifier (7x22x20 / WxHxD) does its job without effort. In operation the unit heats up minimally above room temperature. When you first turn the volume on the digital display of 30 (60) is selected by default. For
my taste a bit too loud. Get the once selected volume, treble and bass settings will remain as long as one does not deprive the Edifier C2 amplifiers his necessary current. That's why there's
a standby circuit and back of the device with a separate power switch, and therefore from me a star deduction! Can not operate with a power strip you, unless one imagines each his
Values new one. It runs just always in standby mode.
But now to the sound: The usual 2.1 PC speakers are normally overemphasized in the bass range and serve mostly to the fact that neighborhood relations are less affected positively. Not so with the Edifier C2. Clear bass lines are absolutely clean given back, without distortion, without vibrations. Even in quiet areas a wonderful sonorities and dynamics is present. Is distortion
only close to a 50's volume setting. Because the level is almost unbearable :-). The heights seem very transparent.
At idle, I could not detect any noise or hum. Here
is the impact of the structural advantage of a separation of subwoofer and amplifier.
The supplied credit card remote control has the standard functions for volume, bass, treble, mute, Power, Input. Something sinnfrei for PC use, because my arms are so short and not that I would have to rely on the remote control, since the amplifier is placed directly on the PC and there offers the same features.
Finally, one can note: For normal listening the Edifier C2 provides solid sound and is highly recommended not only for pop / rock / soul music on the PC.
