I have the hard drive now over 3 years as external data memory in use to my (then Vista 64bit) Windows 7 64bit computer. Have never experienced that the plate not doing what they should. She runs to this day with no problems. The connection to the computer was to my knowledge never been interrupted for some reason, so that any data would be lost.
The read and write speed is okay.
The only drawback: It lacks an A, Off switch on the device!
