I have two ASUS DRW-24B3ST in a tower PC in use. At the moment I'm going to digitize my extensive CD collection. Unfortunately, both drives have problems with music CDs. Some CDs are not recognized at all. Worse, other CDs coming out only when ripping scrap. This is especially annoying because you only discovered later when listening. The drives do not differ different part. In some CDs, which does not recognize a drive the CD, the other detects the CD, but there are MP3s created with cruel quality. On two other PCs and a laptop in our household these CDs can rip easily.
Plus problems come when burning CDs or DVDs. Often burning aborts simple. Even if it is completed without error, the burned CDs or DVDs are often not readable on other devices.
It may be that I caught two copies of a bad batch. However, a brief Internet search found that I am not the only one with these problems.
