Norton - light and shade and always see everything individually.

My review is actually only reflects my experience (including as a former employee Support for Symantec) throughout the last few years and can not be directly to the new version (that I ordered) relate. Nevertheless, I would like to share my longtime experience in advance and try Norton also neutral while staying because other users will soon be either positive or negative reports only here.
First, I want to emphasize that there can be no software or which could win the title "best protection for your PC." Too big are the differences between the suites and the tastes are too different to be able to give clear recommendations can. Each software in terms of safety and usability of light and shade, so you have to let decide your own taste with eventually.

Why do I continue to Norton has put on my part a simple reason. Norton has in all recent years can protect me always against viruses, etc. and guarantees my safety net proven. Conclusion: Those who buy Norton, makes nothing. Those who do not buy and another product (also freeware) used, either. Only those who would use any security solution to be punished. At least one AV product is mandatory because a firewall in Windows is already available and bring most routers innately gentle.
Norton has only an advantage for me. It contains many security solutions that you would otherwise have to laboriously create with freeware, Brain and corresponding configuration (with expertise) and then the unexperienced users rather then a risk (if he does not know what he's doing and / or needs) imposes.
What I do not like the new version? I can tell already. I can no longer limited to 3 licenses (all I need) access, as I always buy a 5 Series. The 3-pack license, there was in the last version. So I pay a higher price for 2 unnecessary licenses. Furthermore, I also know that Norton is part of a US corporation. We have known for Snowden now what that means. But I would have to do without it, I would have to do without Windows itself well to do it right. But I refuse it grimace book and WhatfüreinSchreck to counteract a little here.

For product:
I like the design considerably better than before (where it was dark and gruftig), but the index is not as nice as the menu is not equal to the corresponding branched clearly sub-items. Clicking u. U. is down only in the wrong menu item. Norton affects color now more friendly, although I would have still a design with its own style preference. Unfortunately, now jump but yes (almost) all other manufacturers with on the train and adjust their products to Windows on. Stop is again a matter of taste.
Otherwise Norton does what it should, although the integration in the maintenance window still creates problems. One problem which manifests itself already a considerable time in the forums of Norton. You can leave a message in Windows Although, in my opinion is not a good solution.
But a different behavior of Norton seems to be a bug. The self-protection of Norton seems to not work as well. I could see in a test with an external program that Norton can be cut short. This was done while in an admin account (and here one could say that one should be here already recognize what there so happens), but would have a warning from Norton must have the effect, which unfortunately did not happen.

Price (on the comments): By now you get this 5-license for less money (somewhere else, but where you still often Shipping or similar Anticipated needs..). Was also to be expected. Unfortunately, I could see the "cheap" day not wait and had to buy on the day, where the version was on the market, because my old version had expired. I wanted to also not freeware or another version on the PC. Was just stupid, I was also aware of this, however.

Meanwhile 5 devices with Norton were equipped. On the mobile version, you can do without. Mobile "freeware" makes it comparatively as good as Norton, so where I say that a paid extra effort is not necessary here necessarily.
On the PC there were 2 units where Norton had to be reinstalled after a while. Unfortunately, it was not clear why Norton did bitches here. Although the self-diagnostic work, but then could not help also and it had to end up with Norton Remove (led at the end of this program on the corresponding Norton site) here but a large lever are recognized. Clearly a negative point.
Norton showed up every now and then more than overzealous (some unknown programs) and therefore wanted to "kill" and relatively harmless software. Innocent players would have had a problem here. Nevertheless, there were at that time not a single weak point in the defense, detection and destruction of truly malicious software. Ultimately prefer even want to see what, than later the great dilemma when in fact what has happened.
Meanwhile, others, for example. The Chinese (if you believe the test), quite a bit caught up in terms of safety and let some other suite even are already in the rain. The question is whether a freeware from China would or may not be enough elsewhere already for 08/15 users.
