- Fine sharpness and resolution,
- Minimal waste sharpness to the edge (in practical photography completely meaningless!)
- Barrel distortion at the short end, not overly strong, but visible. As with many much more expensive lenses also, only there is the distortion eliminated directly in the camera (like in my Nikon D800), at the G3 not: That must take over one of the commercially available programs, and this works perfectly!
- The zoom rocker works just fine, especially in the video area, but also in photography has quickly accustomed. Can be very finely dosed and then running (adjustable) at different rates and especially very smooth.
One has to be clear about the fact that the lens is set to nothing, not even the anti-shake, as one reviewer claimed erroneously: If you want to turn off the so you have to do that on camera!
The construction is very good, everything goes silent and silky smooth. Only I had no idea where getting a sun visor? The JJC LH-37 EP fits and does not seem to vignetting. The lens cap but you get so it only very fiddly.
In a nutshell: I am very happy with the little thing. Why then not 5 stars? I have it in - very reasonable! Bought Kit -. If you buy it in addition, it is way overpriced compared to the "traditional" 14-42 from Panasonic, where in particular the latest version ("II") visually, structurally and mechanically is very good - and almost 100 euros cheaper. If you do not want to take advantage of X during the shoot, I would "traditional" 14-42 prefer. Nevertheless, Highly Recommended!
