I bought it because I wanted an external flash for my D80.
Delivery was very fast, as usual with Amazon.
Unpacked, and tested the same times. Batteries were at it, which I liked very well.
The flash is strong enough IMO for amateur photographers. The slave mode works meisstens when all settings are correct. Unfortunately, the range is not too big.
Practically, the small reflector screen and the ability to turn the flash and tilt, as I want, I would never want to do without. Indirect lightning offers many opportunities, and I am just beginning to explore the potential. And for the Metz is good enough.
As for the bad battery cover, the others have rated this bad, I can not complain.
Of course it's not an expensive stock of Nikon, and it shows already. But the workmanship is really great for the price.
The test flash function is also very useful for Langzeitpelichtung and Light Painting.
Something negative, there was of course, but I like to push on me;)
It's a Nikon remote slave, therefore not suitable as a slave to other manufacturers or compact cameras. So you can not measure it, how to set other models so that it responds to the flash of other manufacturers, so a proper Master Flash, to thank God my D80 in the built-in flash offers (beginners and I make absolutely sure) benöigt
In manual mode, from left would be even more precise metering desirable.
So a clear buy recommendation for anyone who wants to experiment with light, but do not overspend.
Property me the way, the same purchased on recommendations here and in the DSLR forum, a few Eneloop batteries 1900mA. This invites the flash, to my mind even at full power very quickly (approx. 3 seconds with reduced power, which is sufficient meisst, he keeps up with the 3 Pix / sec offered by the D80, with), which comes bundled with the batteries, but also with expensive brand batteries was not even begin far met.
So best not order the right;)
Update: The Metz is me now (almost a year I've been him) 2 times fell down really hard. now the head can nochnal about 25-30 degrees on tend backwards, which would be net bad;)
The power zoom has unfortunately not survived, but he still flashes merrily. Must Although a new purchase, but the old will certainly continue to do his service.
Already at the first crash of about 1 meter I thought that it was with the little ones, and the 2nd was from even further up, about 1.5 meters.
Indicates a quite good workmanship.
Both falls are mine, because I have not really fixed mounted him.
