Not bad but ... 86

Having had in my possession "than" 18/105 Nikkor, I wanted to please me!
First observation upon receipt, the goal is delivered without protective case.
And first SLR reception dice mounting it on my d90 70/300 for first grip and little test.
Well it is clear that to be able to exceed its maximum focal length "usual" changes a lot of things!
And I immediately realized that I had done very well to order a goal that could be stabilized (very efficient stabilization system) ...
But I was expecting a better because I also immediately noticed that the AF skated painfully in the dark !!! 18/105 do my thing that I very rarely done.
Painful and rather boring thing that led me to thinking about whether I should not return this 70/300 Amazon has ...
Something I finally decided not to because I thought it was maybe better "get to know".
And with hindsight I think now having made right choice.
Because if I was initially passed a bridge has an SLR, it was with a view to better understand photography; and as AF may seem / appear boring has certain moments, he finally forces me to better know and better use of my equipment! For me a reflex has any real use if it does not continuously remains in a program modes ...
If not in condition "normal", I find that the AF is quite similar to my 18/105 regarding the noise and haste, and I find the grip pleasant and sweet rings; and all for the moment no apparent play.
By cons I was surprised by the noise produced by the stabilization system; a little too loud and a little too often for my taste; a battery end of life may not appreciate.
I hope that I would not have needed to try to obtain warranty 5 years Tamon Europe ...
I do not mention the sharpness or contrast, neither the bokeh and other "whatnot" because I'm not a "pro" and do not have the necessary equipment to be able to judge.
So I would just say that for now, the images I have produced with this aim right for me!
In conclusion I think it is an objective fact for the amateur who wishes to progress, which is not certain to be able to move from stabilization in conditions of long focal ...
