-> On the bike I will use it the same way as in the car
-> Of course, should the holder be compatible in the car and motorcycle HQ
-> The display should reflect in no case
-> The announcement (in the car) clear and understandable
and
-> The instructions be timely and clear
-> Route planning with automatic further calculations to reach a way point (eg does not the Falk F10)
-> Reusing my "motorcycle route planner" and the routes it already started
-> Next Navigation / -rechnen also in the tunnel (in the event that there is a mass exit in the tunnel)
-> Splash proof
-> Route calculation to be done quickly, even over longer distances (across countries)
-> Routing result must "fit"
-> Guidance on stages must be maintained
-> In addition to routes should the Navi is not in a "Please contact now" bring loop
-> Satellite tracking timely and not only on the open meadow after 30 minutes
-> TMC to deliver clean results and automatically included in the route calculation (without demand as Falk F10)
-> Intuitive operation (if necessary during the journey to change an option in exceptional cases times)
etc.
The Z100 Crocodile is already a good approach for motorcyclists.
Many of the above properties has it, as
+ Satellites are found tremendously fast, even in the building (near the window)
+ Shortly before tunneling the display will switch back to night mode and at the end.
+ Is in the tunnel "for further calculation"
+ After the route calculation, you can optimize routes. Moreover, provided the calculated route with the options used and may be three more routing results are calculated and then select between the desired result
+ Route calculation is fast, at transnational drafting guidance I certainly have waited five minutes
+ For those who need simple and wants to see at a glance / needs, as the next action looks, the display may change to arrow display.
+ The selected route with the options can be easily leave the domestic armchair before. Prima thing !!
+ Bright display with (in comparison to other devices) big-character posters and buttons on the display
+ Shortcuts to change the setting without "System - Settings - Options: - Volume - decrease", and then back, back, etc., like other units have.
+ Splash-proof housing
+ Device Holder as 4-claw-ratcheting system may remain at the car-holder, because this carries the connections for headphones and power supply
+ Integrated TMC in the device, but not too powerful, see below
So far so good !!
Unfortunately, it can not:
- Speed limits are displayed only on the High Streets
- On secondary roads (city and country), there's no info on max. Top speed. But this is also the warning function decommissioned and therefore useless !! This can eg Navigon 7210 better.
- Route planning on the PC is not possible. There are (at least according to my research on the net) and no converter that the "dat" file format this unit can. (The Destinator PN and so on are not compatible). OK. One could route the unit plan (with difficulty, but possible). Result: Enter place on map and .... the route point sitting! But unfortunately, he can no longer move. Ie: If I the street names and house numbers do not know the place (which I have a Navi ??), that's it Unfortunately, the town center the desired target is just rarely on a route.
- The TMC is compared to the Falk F10 weaker
- After the update of the maps and POIs of the start of the device takes considerably longer to reboot (in sleep mode, the device is immediately there). The reboot is on whenever the unit has been connected to the PC
- Upper lock can be opened is accidentally because the upper Gerätehalte- nose too short and the release lever 'ne track is too long and / or too smooth -.> Lock would be better, because the unit will u U. while driving from the holder dissolves and is surprising (the motorcycle) in the ditch
-.. Power supply unit and protective bag or similar (as Navigon 7210) are missing in the delivery
My conclusion is:
Very nice unit with a few bugs, which the manufacturer hopefully look at times closer and can be included in the product maintenance. I would be happy. The alternatives in the motorcycle environment are scarce and (very) expensive, but not necessarily better. Since the device is particularly touted for motorcyclists and cyclists, necessarily the route planning on the PC should be possible.
