After I had drunk a cup of coffee in Vietnam, I was thrilled with the different type, especially chocolaty taste and had during my holiday there regularly drinking Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk both and without. For at home I have two different varieties taken as whole beans, which I had selected on the basis of the chocolate odor, and was not disappointed. Because the stock will not last, I have looked around the web for ways to buy coffee from Vietnam and am a little surprised that there seems to be only a single importer.
Unfortunately, the taste of this coffee has only partly to do with the coffee I drank and brought into Vietnam. The chocolate flavor you can imagine at best. The smell is rather peculiar and not chocolaty. I ordered four different varieties of Trung Nguyen (including Gourmet Blend) and not found the desired chocolaty coffee.
The coffee is not bad per se and tastes good sweetened with a dash of soy milk quite well, in any case better than the German unit of coffee.
