As others have said in the past, below: THIS ITEM IS NOT COMPATIBLE with a Garmin eTrex Vista HCx.
The HCX has a slot for mini SD card, and therefore the outline of the face behind 'GPS is not the same between a Etrex and Etrex HCX. Result, I can not close the cover. I'll have to cut me, as others have done above, to cut the plastic with a paper cutter to close the hood which will ... more hermetic the shot!
